You Don’t Owe Your Passion a Paycheck
I wrote this blog on May 4th, 2026 (Star Wars day) that explores how modern culture pressures people to monetize every passion and turn hobbies into careers or side hustles. It argues that once passion becomes tied to income, it can lose the freedom and joy that made it meaningful in the first place. It suggests that a job and a passion do not always need to be the same thing, and that fulfillment can come from different parts of life. Rather than constantly optimizing for productivity, the piece encourages people to preserve some passions purely for personal happiness and self-expression.
